Press Event for Two Alcoa Grants - 8/29/07

Over the last two years, the ETCFC has received two grants from Alcoa Inc. and the Alcoa Foundation. These grants were used to create the "Young Biodiesel Leaders" and "You Can Use Biodiesel Too" programs. These pictures are from our press event on August 29 that helped promote and inform about what all these programs are doing in the county.

South Blount County Utility District's B20 fleet - 7/27/07

South Blount Utility started using B20 last year. They decided to promote it a little more by adding some larger-sized stickers to the sides of several of their trucks (as you can see below). Although mostly new, they have a fairly diverse fleet in having some on- and some off-road vehicles.

Tennessee Concrete Association's Joint Meeting with the Mississippi Concrete Assoc. - 7/20/07
Overly presents to about 50 members of the Tennessee and Mississippi Concrete Associations at the joint meeting they held in Chattanooga on July 20.

The Hubert Smith Radio Show - 7/8/07
The Hubert Smith Radio Show runs every Sunday from 4-6pm on local radio station WKVL 850 AM in Knoxville. Hubert talks about politics a good bit but also gets into other issues that effect our area and he was very interested in talking about alternative fuels. He invited us on the show and we discussed our current energy problems and how alternative fuels should be a part of that solutions mix. (WKVL is part of the Horne Radio Network. Locally, other stations that are a part of their network include WGAP 1400 AM in Maryville, 1140 WLOD AM in Loudon and 1290 WATO AM in Oak Ridge.)

Hubert and Jonathan go deep in talking about the importance of using alternative fuels in East Tennessee.

Earth Fest 2007 - 4/21/07
What can we say? We've got the best Earth Day event in Tennessee! And the ETCFC represents en mass. About 10 volunteers, not including our wonderful auto friends who bring hybrids to show off, helped out that day making sure that folks had fun and learned lots at the ETCFC tent.
